Client-Side Configuration

Because Zoom BackUpz runs as a secure desktop application on your Windows machine, all active integration settings, backup destinations, and schedules are configured directly within your Zoom BackUpz Desktop Client.

1. Quick Desktop App Launcher

Open Zoom BackUpz Settings

Launch the desktop application directly from your browser to modify your storage destinations, sync schedules, or account connection.

2. Configuring Storage Destinations

Zoom BackUpz supports multiple destination storage targets for downloaded recordings and transcripts:

Local & External Disk Storage

Store your recording archive on any directory accessible to your Windows computer.

  • Internal SSD/HDD (e.g. C:\Users\Username\ZoomBackups)
  • External high-capacity USB/Thunderbolt drives
  • Mapped network drives (SMB/CIFS file shares)

Private WebDAV / Nextcloud

Directly transfer backup files to your private or corporate Nextcloud/WebDAV cloud storage.

  • WebDAV Host URL (e.g. https://cloud.example.com/remote.php/webdav/)
  • Username and encrypted App Password
  • Custom remote directory structure

In the application settings, you can define how and when Zoom BackUpz syncs your cloud recordings:

4. Account & Token Management

Connected Account Information

You can view your currently connected Zoom User ID, authorized scopes, and token validity inside the desktop app. Tokens are refreshed automatically without requiring you to re-enter your password.

Switching Accounts or Disconnecting

To switch to a different Zoom account or completely disconnect the application:

  1. Click Sign Out in the top-right corner of the Zoom BackUpz window.
  2. To permanently remove authorization from Zoom's side, follow the Deauthorization Steps in Zoom Marketplace.
